My mom always had one of these on the stove during the fall when I was growing up (and still does it) it's one of the many things I've borrowed from my sweet mama and I absolutely love it. It makes the entire house smell and feel like a cozy fall day. When you're done with it for the day, you can put it in the microwave and reheat the next day. One batch usually lasts about 3 days.
Here's what ya need: Water (about 5-6 cups but measure with your heart based on the size of pot you use)
Cinnamon Sticks (3-4)
Cinnamon Powder & Ground Cloves (again, measure with your heart, but make sure you use more than you think you'd need)
Sliced oranges and apples with the peel
If you don't want to use up a good orange, you can eat the inside and just use the orange peel too. This is also a great way to get rid of fruit that's going to go bad otherwise.
Give it a stir and let it simmer on a low setting for as long as you'd like.
Lots of ya'll wanted a link to my exact simmer pot (a Dutch oven) so I included it below. We also use the Dutch oven for chili, soup, etc. It's a great tool to have in your kitchen and looks so pretty! If you try this out, take a pic and tag me on instagram @avanilladiet
